The Christiana Care parking garage is a four-level precast structure on the health care system's Wilmington, Del., campus.

Harry S. Peterson Company was a specialty subcontractor responsible for caulking, waterproofing and sealing. HSP worked below grade to damproof the retaining walls and waterproof the elevator pit. On the cast-in-place concrete and precast concrete decks, the crew caulked the tee-to-tee joints, perimeter cove joints, slab on grade construction joints, and an expansion joint at the intersection of grade to supported precast. The caulking of the exterior walls included the elevator tower, stair towers and precast shear walls. A waterproof membrane system was installed over the occupied space, which included office, electrical and mechanical rooms. A silane sealer to protect the concrete from harmful chloride ions was also applied.
